We respond to snakes (including pythons and cobras), monitor lizards, Sumatran palm civets (commonly known as the musang), long-tailed macaques, wild boar, bats, and stinging insects such as bees and hornets. We are equally at home rescuing domestic animals: cats, dogs and other pets stranded in drains, roof spaces, ledges or trees. Every ESC officer is trained and certified for work at height, so rescues from rooftops, parapets and scaffolding are a core capability, not a special request.

Is the wildlife harmed during removal?
We work hard to avoid it. Passive ushering and exclusion are always our first choice, and where capture is necessary we use species-appropriate, welfare-first methods, subject to the approvals each species requires.
Do you rescue cats, dogs and other pets?
Yes. Alongside wildlife, we rescue domestic animals: cats stuck on ledges or rooftops, dogs trapped in drains, pets in crawl spaces. Every officer is trained and certified for work at height, so animals stranded high up are well within our capability.
Do you handle venomous snakes?
Yes. Our officers are trained to identify and safely handle Singapore's snake species, including venomous ones such as cobras and pit vipers. There is a monitor lizard in my house or drain. Can you remove it?
Yes, subject to the approvals the species requires. Indoors, close internal doors so it stays in one area, keep children and pets away, and call or WhatsApp +65 9149 1408. Monitor lizards are shy, but they bite and scratch hard when cornered, so do not try to shoo or trap one yourself. One in an outdoor drain or canal is usually passing through and will often move on if left undisturbed.
Something is moving in my roof or ceiling at night. Could it be a palm civet (musang)?
Quite possibly. The Sumatran palm civet (Paradoxurus musangus), commonly known as the musang, often moves into roof spaces and false ceilings. A trained ESC officer inspects the space, finds the entry points, guides the animal out, then seals the gaps it was using. Please do not seal gaps yourself first, as that can trap an animal inside. Where capture is needed, it is subject to the approvals the species requires.
Do you remove bee and hornet nests?
Yes, including nests high on trees, ledges and facades, which our officers, trained and certified for work at height, can reach safely. Keep people well away, do not spray or knock the nest, and call us. If someone is stung many times or has trouble breathing, call 995 straight away.
Can you help with wild boar or monkeys near my estate?
Yes. Wild boar and long-tailed macaque cases start with a site assessment and practical advice on fencing, bins and waste, and access points, which is what discourages repeat visits. Where removal is needed, it is carried out subject to the approvals required under Singapore's Wildlife Act. Please do not feed or approach them: feeding wildlife is an offence under the Wildlife Act.
How quickly can you respond?
We maintain 24/7 response capability for urgent cases. For non-urgent matters such as recurring palm civet or macaque activity, we typically schedule a site assessment within one to two business days.
Can you stop the problem from recurring?
That is precisely our focus. Removal alone rarely solves a wildlife conflict. We identify what attracted the animal and recommend exclusion and habitat modification measures that address the root cause.
